At Colle Surya we’re growing a welcoming future, putting our lifestyle into practice – learning from nature, not trying to tame it. Our doors are open to everyone who wants to wander a short distance from Gubbio to experience a vacation that feels like home and experience a different way of life. Using a permaculture system, we treat the earth with respect. We love sharing our enthusiasm with visitors who come to see why we love our home on the hill so much. Why not come see for yourself?

At Colle Surya you will find the Palazzo del Gastaldo, a historic residence turned farm stay agritourism home nestled in the Umbrian hills. Here you’ll feel at home after a long journey. This old Medieval watchtower has been renovated in a way that respects its past and its history – a small fortress where you can reconnect with yourself and with nature. You can wander off down countless roads, paths and trails at your own pace before coming back in the evening to enjoy your dinner while watching the sun go down. The building interior has been turned into five beautiful apartments, refurbished and furnished in a way that respects the building’s history. Think wooden beams, terracotta flooring, and furniture that tells a story. Each apartment has its own furnished veranda and a kitchen, too. The five apartments are named il Fienile (the Barn), la Scuderia (the Stable), l’Eremo (the Hermitage), la Legnaia (the Woodshed), and Surya. Which will feel like home to you?

Colle Surya is in Montelovesco, in northern Umbria. We’re 20 km from Gubbio, 40 km from Perugia and lake Trasimeno, and a short drive off road E45.
